Run Free Extrafine Merino Sock

Extrafine Merino Sock is 390 yds (360 m) / 100 g of 85% Extrafine SW Merino, 15% Nylon.  It knits up at 28 sts x 36 rows over 10 cm (4") on 3.25 mm (US 3 needles). 

Run Free is a colorway inspired by the uncredited, anonymous but powerful street art murals created in the aftermath of the the Ahmaud Arbery murder and protests of police brutality.  It's aqua base color is splashed with blue green and speckled with chartruese, turquoise and pink.  We can do something beautiful with these horrible feelings.

Ahmaud was out jogging in his neighborhood when he explored an open home under construction.  I've taken my kids into an open construction site to show them the bones of a house and teach them about how much effort goes into our comfort.  I have never fathomed having to run for my life after such an innocent curiosity.  100% of proceeds from this colorway will go to EJI and their efforts to correct racial injustice within our criminal justice system.  No profit will come of this pain here.  

Extrafine merino has a finer micron count than 95% of what is commonly available.  I chose all SW Merino sock yarns without nylon until I felt this 2 ply yarn.  It’s so very soft, reinforced enough for socks and mitts and sensational next to skin, I can personally recommend this yarn without reservation. This yarn can be machine washed, delicate cycle but we opt to hand wash in cool water and lay flat to dry.

Colors may vary slightly from the picture, due to lighting conditions, camera calibration and your computer monitor settings. The color in this yarn has been set and rinsed however even commercial dyes may bleed in the wash.
